Dr. John Higgins began his education in Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering at Vanderbilt University and finished at Texas A&M University. It only took him twenty-two years to arrive at his final graduation line. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He completed the final twenty-five years of his career, working for the Air Force and other Defense related organizations in various, mostly research related, endeavors.
Along the way, from start to finish, he worked in design and in materials applications for conventional office type structures, but more typically on bridges, tunnels, mines, and dams. Gradually he worked his career out of the wet and dark places to something closer to his first love of flying. He finished the last twenty years of his “career,” building and testing technology for missile silos and substructures for launch vehicles for space. On loan to NASA for a short time, he managed to cause a little commotion, directing designs of manned spacecraft structural prototypes. Odd jobs of this nature helped him complete time in service for retirement. Of course, he completed his career complementing underground experiments to image on-orbit objects back in the dark and wet places.
In short, he never found a job he could keep for very long, but he met many nice people along the way. He is currently still living in retirement and cooks for his wife of fifty-five years. This is his first book and a second book is being completed now. He likes to write, traveling back in time to reimagine what might have been and why, only realizing with age that given a long enough timeline or a short enough distance, most history is constantly repeating.
In a world of great danger and few second chances, can this man and woman make new lives together?
Suppose you were by accident of time-space transported 13,000 years into the past to a wilderness of the Ojibwe tribal ancestors. If you could not return home, how would you try to adopt to your new life in this primitive setting. Dr Robert Jackson, after serious reflection, decides to use his advanced engineering skills to better the lives of his adopting tribal family and leave a permanent legacy to improve their eventual. But there is just one more Ice Age developing which he must help people survive first. The Age was later renamed the Younger Dryas and it destroyed many of the great creatures of that age.
